Employees of Institute of Inorganic Chemical Technology and Environmental Engineering, the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering, got a European patent on obtaining activated carbon from the bracket fungus "The method of preparation of activated carbon from fungi".

Patent is a result of intensive cooperation between the Institute and two Norwegian research centres: SINTEF and Vestfold University College. It is worth mentioning that this cooperation resulted in obtaining in the years 2014-2017 financing of the research project "Post-Combustion CO2 Capture on New Solid Sorbents and Application in a Moving Bed Reactor" - project manager: prof. Urszula Narkiewicz, co-financed by the Norwegian funds, as part of the Polish-Norwegian Research Cooperation program implemented by the National Centre for Research and Development.
