During the Gala, the website of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin - www.zut.edu.pl, was awarded in the category "Website without barriers".

This is the second such significant award for WPUT for adapting websites to the WCAG 2.0 standard - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. WCAG 2.0 is a wide range of recommendations for making websites more accessible. This award means that the service is friendly and adapted to the needs of people with various disabilities: blind, visually impaired, deaf or with limited mobility.

Jury of the Competition awarded the university website www.zut.edu.pl, which is not only compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.0, but also for years consistently maintained and improved in a friendly way for people with disabilities. - we read in the justification of the Jury of the Competition "Website without barriers".

The award for WPUT was received by Anna Czekalska - website coordinator, website administrator at www.zut.edu.pl, who creates the ZUT website on a daily basis by implementing WCAG 2.0 standards, trains content editors in this area and coordinates their work.

"I am proud that the website of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin has been awarded in the competition" Website without barriers ". Availability is a process. It is not enough once to prepare the website correctly so that it will be available for a long time, but you still need to work consistently and be able to keep the WCAG 2.0 standard in order not to squander this work.

The prize is a confirmation that it is worth demanding from yourself and others to meet the standard on a daily basis and that the WPUT website still maintains a high level of availability. "- said Anna Czekalska from the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.

For the first time the prize for accessibility of the website for people with disabilities was granted to the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin on April 25, 2017 during the conference "Digital Inclusion" by Minister Marek Zagórski and the Chairman of the Widzialni Foundation Artur Marcinkowski.
