As the only university in Poland participating in SECURE2, West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin plays an active role in this initiative focused on implementing European standards for researchers’ career development and strengthening the capacity of research and higher education institutions.
The university team consisted of representatives from the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering: Magdalena Siwoń, MSc – project coordinator, Martyna Jurkiewicz, MSc Eng., and Adrian Augustyniak, PhD Eng. from the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering.
The meeting was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering, Prof. Rafał Rakoczy, who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of international scientific collaboration as well as the university’s engagement in the SECURE2 project.
The event focused on the ongoing implementation and further development of activities supporting European frameworks for researchers’ careers and institutional advancement in research and innovation. Over the course of two days, participants reviewed progress across work packages WP1- WP6, discussed implementation plans, and explored cooperation with partner projects and organizations supporting the research community.
The programme also featured presentations on the latest European Commission policy developments, training sessions related to the European Researcher Career Framework, collaborative action-planning workshops, and discussions involving representatives of Eurodoc, MCAA, and the Advisory Board. Beyond its formal agenda, the meeting also created opportunities for networking and integration, including a guided tour during which participants discovered and appreciated the charm of Szczecin – the green and blue capital of West Pomerania.
