THE RECTOR OF WEST POMERANIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN SZCZECIN announces a competition for the post of assistant professor F/M (working time – full time) in the Department of Landscape Architecture - Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w Szczecinie

The candidate should meet the requirements specified in Articles 113 and 116 of the Law on higher education and science (Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym i nauce) of 20 July 2018 (consolidated text – Journal of Laws of 2024, position 1571) and in the Statute of West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.

Scope of duties

1. Teaching duties: delivering assigned classes totaling at least 225 hours per academic year (lectures, tutorials: classroom-based and laboratory-based), on full-time and part-time first- and second-cycle degree programmes, whilst ensuring a high standard of teaching.
2. Research duties: conducting research and research and development work in the fields of environmental engineering, mining and energy and/or in the field of agriculture and horticulture and disseminating the results, in particular through the publication of scientific articles and active participation in scientific conferences; applying for research grants and research fellowships; participating in the implementation of research grants; organizing one’s own academic development.
3. Organizational duties for the department and faculty.
4. Other duties: the scope of duties and tasks is set out in the Work Regulations of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.

Qualification requirements:

1. Required education: a PhD in the field of environmental engineering, mining and energy, or in the field of agriculture and horticulture, or a related discipline;
2. Documented academic achievements (including authorship or co-authorship of at least 3 publications) in a field consistent with the Department’s research profile, taking into account research methods used in botany and nature conservation;
3. Documented teaching experience in a field consistent with the Department’s research profile, in particular in general and systematic botany, phytosociology, nature conservation, botanical cartography, nature conservation and environmental law, and related fields, as well as qualifications to teach courses on health and safety at work;
4. Publication and organizational experience in the field of science communication;
5. Ability to work in a team, good communication skills, and a willingness to engage in the organizational activities of the unit;
6. fluent command of Polish language in speech and writing.

Information from the National Criminal Record concerning the offences provided in Chapter XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Art. 189a and art. 207 of the Penal Code, and in the Act of 29th July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws 2023, item 1939), or the equivalent offences stipulated in the provisions of the foreign law.
