The competition was open to third-year full-time undergraduate and second-year full-time postgraduate landscape architecture students at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.
The aim was to develop a concept for the area around the Centre's headquarters, creating a distinctive and representative spatial composition that takes into account the Centre's specific nature and needs. Participants were asked to propose a selection of characteristic land development elements, such as forms and layouts of greenery, surfaces, lighting, and other small architectural features. The visualisations created by the students will complement the programme and spatial guidelines in further design and implementation studies by the West Pomeranian Agricultural Advisory Centre in Barzkowice.
The students worked on the competition during their semester design classes. Project groups were supervised by Professor Grzegorz Nowak, at the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Agriculture.
A total of nine entries were submitted to the competition, and the competition committee awarded prizes to the top three teams:
First place: Zuzanna Chudziak, Agata Kasowska and Natalia Maciąg;
Second place: Anna Dąbrowska and Aleksandra Penier;
Third place: Dominika Bełz, Weronika Minko and Weronika Krawczak.
First prize was awarded for the development of a distinctive design concept, featuring clear zoning of space, separation of areas for integration and relaxation, and use of natural materials. The selection of vegetation was also recognised for its compositional consistency and adaptation to the habitat.
Congratulations!
