Scientists from Poland and Norway talked about the effective carbon dioxide reduction 01.06.2022 09:28

Scientists of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, the leader of an international team researching increased carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere, talked to project partners from Norway during the Scandinavian Days about the greenhouse effect.

The joint task of the researchers is to develop an invention that will capture carbon dioxide from the exhaust gases. They pursue it with photocatalytic (team from Poland) and photoelectrochemical (team from Norway) approaches.

On May 12 and 13, as part of the 8th edition of Scandinavian Days, a Polish-Norwegian Scientific Symposium took place. It was dedicated to the results of the PhotoRed project ("Photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical carbon dioxide reduction "), led by the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, and partners in Norway - SINTEF and University of South-East Norway.

In the hospitable interiors of the Scandinavian House at Monte Cassino Street in Szczecin, very friendly and intimate conditions for presentation, discussion and exchange of views have been created. During the symposium, issues related to the greenhouse effect, carbon dioxide capture and its further processing into useful products were discussed.

As part of the symposium, Norwegian partners visited our laboratories at the Department of Inorganic Chemical Technology and Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering, where the project coordinated by ZUT is being carried out for over two years.
