Engineer from Szczecin printed the ventilator on a 3D printer. Prototype will be tested soon 18.05.2020 11:02

Dr Eng. Marcin Królikowski from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics WPUT has developed a prototype ventilator using a 3D printer. It is a modified VentilAid, the device of Krakow engineers.

This is a "last resort ventilator". The device is to facilitate ventilation of the lungs with air without human intervention, i.e. just like in classic ventilators based on the mask and respiratory support - noted Dr Eng. Marcin Królikowski.

The ventilator has redesigned housing, control and drive side. However, the whole concept developed by Kraków engineers Mateusz Janowski and Szymon Chrupczalski remained.

Next week, the ventilator will be tested on special equipment at the Pomeranian Medical University.
