Professor Jacek Wróbel, Rector of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, awarded „Outstanding Teacher and Youth Guardian 2020". Among the honoured teachers was also professor Iwona Bąk from the Faculty of Economics of the West Pomeranian University of Technology.

The organizer of the competition is the Polish Federation of Engineering Association NOT, which has for years been involved in promoting and supporting technical development and education in the region. One of such activities is the organization of the competition "Outstanding Teacher and Youth Guardian".

The goal of the contest is to nominate unconventional teachers and mentors in the field of technical education and to promote their work.

Professor Jacek Wróbel is an academic teacher specializing in plant physiology and biochemistry. His scientific achievements include over 140 published articles. He is the co-author of four teaching scripts and the promoter of about 60 doctoral dissertations in the fields of environmental protection, horticulture, biotechnology and agriculture. On May 29, 2020, he began his second term as the rector of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.

Professor Iwona Bąk is Vice-Dean for student affairs and head of the Department of Applied Mathematics in Economics at the Faculty of Economics of the West Pomeranian University of Technology. She is a promoter of many scientific papers, co-ordinator of aid for students with a certified disability. She promoted many bachelor's and master's degrees, reviewed over two hundred bachelor's and master's theses.
