Open research data in Polish and European projects

We would like to invite you to participate in the workshops, which will be held on 28th February 2020 at the headquarters of the Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer of WPUT in Szczecin, at ul. Jagiellońska 20-21. The event is co-organized bythe Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer of WPUT in Szczecin and Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computer Modelling of the University of Warsaw,  OpenAIRE National Open Access Office.

The workshops are addressed to academics, library staff and administrative units of the University, as well as to entrepreneurs interested in participating in national and European research and innovation projects.

The aim of the workshops is to bring closer the practical and legal aspects of making research data available in open access, which nowadays is becoming a very important element of global changes in science. The policy of common, open access to science for the general public is based on the objectives of the European Community and obliges member states to adopt strategies to open up access to both scientific publications and research data. An increasing number of research and innovation funding programmes require results from publicly funded projects to be made available in an open manner. One of these is the Horizon 2020 EU Framework Programme of the European Union, which has introduced mandatory open access to scientific publications, as well as the piloting of Open Research Data. These regulations permeate the structures of national research funding mechanisms.

How to prepare for this? How to create a good Data Management Plan in a research project? How to provide an open access efficiently and effectively and why is it worth doing so? All these questions will be answered by the experts conducting the workshop, Ms. Natalia Gruenpeter and Mr. Nikodem Rycko from the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computer Modelling of the University of Warsaw.

Those interested in participating in the workshops are invited to  register via the event website.
