Polish Nobel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuk thanked professor Jacek Wróbel for the congratulatory letter she received from him shortly after the announcement of the Nobel Prize decision.

I would like to thank you for the congratulatory letter I received from you through my publishing house in Krakow. As a writer, I am very pleased to read such beautiful, warm words about my work - wrote Olga Tokarczuk.

In the congratulatory letter addressed to Olga Tokarczuk, the rector of ZUT emphasized that October 10, 2019 is a great day for Polish literature.

You found yourself among the outstanding personalities whose work was appreciated and engraved into the history books. In its justification, the Swedish Academy wrote that she received the Nobel Prize for “narrative imagination that with encyclopedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life” - wrote in his letter professor Jacek Wróbel.

Olga Tokarczuk learned about the Nobel on her way to Bielefeld, Germany on October 10, 2019. The Polish writer received the award two months later. The Nobel Prize ceremony took place at the Stockholm Philharmonic. Tokarczuk received the 2018 Nobel Prize for Literature.
